چکیده

In recent years Cellular Manufacturing has become an effective tool for improving productivity. Attainment of full benefits of Cellular Manufacturing depends firstly on the design of the machine cells and part families, secondly on the method of operations which takes full advantage of cell properties. Inappropriate methods of loading and scheduling can even lead to the failure of the Cellular Manufacturing Systems (CMS), however efficiently the cell is designed. In this paper, a new meta heuristics called Memetic Algorithm (MA) is introduced to solve Scheduling problems with multi objectives in Flow Line Manufacturing Cell (FMC). The problem of job scheduling in a flow line-manufacturing cell is considered with the multiple criterions of minimizing the makespan, total flow time and total idle time. Effort has been made to develop an algorithm that is more reliable than the conventional methods and compared with some non-traditional optimization techniques like Genetic Algorithm (GA), Tabu Search Algorithm (TS) for solving flow line manufacturing cell problems. In the Memetic Algorithm approach, local search (Tabu Search) is applied to each newly generated offspring at the end of Genetic Algorithm. The hybrid approach has been developed from the concepts of Genetic Algorithm [GA] and Tabu Search [TS]. C++ programs to execute the Genetic Algorithm, Tabu Search and Memetic Algorithm have been coded. The results of an extensive computational investigation for various problem sizes are presented. It has been observed that the Memetic Algorithm approach performs better than GA and TS approaches in giving solutions of superior quality.

A multi-objective memetic algorithm for risk minimizing vehicle routing problem and scheduling problem

In this paper, a new approach to risk minimizing vehicle routing and scheduling problem is presented. Forwarding agents or companies have two main concerns for the collection of high-risk commodities like cash or valuable commodities between the central depot and the customers: one; because of the high value of the commodities transported, the risk of ambush and robbery are very high. Two; the ...

MMDT: Multi-Objective Memetic Rule Learning from Decision Tree

In this article, a Multi-Objective Memetic Algorithm (MA) for rule learning is proposed. Prediction accuracy and interpretation are two measures that conflict with each other. In this approach, we consider accuracy and interpretation of rules sets. Additionally, individual classifiers face other problems such as huge sizes, high dimensionality and imbalance classes’ distribution data sets. This...

Resource Leveling Using Petrinet and Memetic Approach

The problem of scheduling activities dynamic for a project, within the available resources and adhering to precedence relationships is NP hard combinatorial. Traditional approaches and their extensions are limited in application for simultaneous scheduling of resources with leveling. Considering the need for improved modeling and scheduling techniques, this paper proposes the use of Petrinet ba...

Comparison of multi-objective approaches to the real-world production scheduling

The multi-objective optimization approach has a large influence in the industrial production scheduling. The goal of such optimization is to find a production schedule that satisfies different, usually contradictory, production and business constraints. We implemented a memetic version of several multi-objective algorithms with different approaches to problem solving. The customized reproductio...

A Multi-Objective Memetic Algorithm for Vehicle Resource Allocation in Sustainable Transportation Planning

Sustainable supply chain management has been an increasingly important topic of research in recent years. At the strategic level, there are computational models which study supply and distribution networks with environmental considerations. At the operational level, there are, for example, routing and scheduling models which are constrained by carbon emissions. Our paper explores work in tactic...
